Buffy Goes Broody

 

13 month old Buffy went Broody for the first time in early December.

Lydia kicked Buffy off the nesting box and closed the A-frame coop.

Buffy was forced to run around and play in the grapevine.

Broody Buffy couldn't help herself and made a

nest in between the A-frame coop and the fence.

Buffy the Buff Leghorn has similar feather colouring as the straw.

Buffy has a big comb.

It's summer time hot weather in Australia so Buffy was placed

in a basket lined with a ice pack wrapped in a tea towel.

Bianco has an egg coming so the coop door is opened, much to Buffy's delight.

Bianco sits in the nesting box next to broody Buffy.

Frenchy and Speckles inspect the A-frame coop with the two

occupied nesting boxes. Frenchy does not look impressed!
